SUBMITTED INSTITUTE REPORT ON EXECUTED CONTROL Palilula Municipality has sent a request to the Institute for Public Health Niš, March 17 for the sampling of wastewater, soil and drinking water from flooded areas of Novo Selo, Gornje i Donje Međurovo and Belotinac villages (municipality Doljevac). The report on the inspections carried out on a flooded territory was delivered to Palilula Municipality on Monday 23 March. As stated in the report, signed by Dr. Lazar Bošković, Director of the Center for Hygiene and Human Ecology and Prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović, v.d.direktor of the Institute, the samples in this series are treated in the volume of '' A review ' by all parameters that are available in the Institute of Public Health Niš. "With the supervision of the Institute it has been revealed that the population in the flooded parts of these settlements is supplied with drinking water from municipal water supply but some households have individual water facilities-wells. "Channeling wastewater - faecal and atmospheric, has not been resolved in the flooded parts of the village-residents have a septic tank, so that the long-term poor drainage of water associated with raising groundwater levels, according to the Institute's professional team, most likely led to the flooding of areas." In order to protect health of the population of flooded villages of Palilula has been given the following proposed measures: the population is not recommended to use water from the water structures such as individual wells, tapped sources, public fountains, which does not have a report on the examination authorized healthcare institutions-Institute. It takes extraordinary measures, the analysis of range "B", to prove the correctness of drinking water municipal water supply in the affected areas due to possible contamination of municipal water supply installations. In accordance with the Decision of the water and sewer of the City of Nis it is necessary, according to the report of the Institute, through the competent public company, to have active involvement of water management inspectors and other inspection services. With the withdrawal of flood waters, it is necessary to disinfect housing and ancillary facilities as well as courtyards, hyper-chlorinating of individual facilities. It is essential that the relevant inspection services conduct supervision of the installation of flooded households and institutions in the use of home installations for dual water supply. Center for the Promotion of the Institute of Public Health Niš, will be included in health education, with the population of the flooded territory of the municipality of Palilula. Because spilling of sewage network, overflow of septic tanks or waste water and casting the city landfill in arable land in the flooded territory, in the opinion of Assembly of Palilula, the risk of various infections are threatening. Concerning is the fact that a large area of vegetable crops are flooded with the water, that are threatened wells and water supply network. Therefore, it is urgent to react and repair potential consequences. The Municipality of Palilula in the middle of last year signed a protocol on cooperation in the field of health promotion with the Institute of Public Health in Nis.
